Case Study - Mediterranean Food Marlborough
Mediterranean Food Marlborough operates under a single supplier philosophy, with a focus on quality products and rock-solid delivery and reliability. Its reputation has helped turn Mediterranean Food Marlborough into a growth engine, but in early 2016, the engine was running out of gas.
“Sitting down with our business consultant, who is also our accountant, we discussed our options,” Sue Beattie recalls. “Yes, we did want to grow the business, but we also wanted to increase its value looking ahead to our eventual retirement. After much soul searching we decided to sell our old and too small existing warehouse and move to a much larger and more upmarket building.
Along with the fit out, we decided to invest in new technology to help automate our back-end processes so we could handle more turnover without more staff and without adding to the workload carried by Rob and myself.”
After consultation with CSG, the owners chose to implement a cloud office technology solution with seven Total Office and Microsoft Office 365 seats. Microsoft InTune accounts for system management and CSG storage accounts for security and backup.
Full mobility with mobile backup enables phone orders to be accessed and processed remotely, including network access and integration with Mediterranean Food Marlborough’s Infusion financials, warehousing and order processing software.
“Neither Rob nor I have any formal technology training,” Sue Beattie says. “Technology has always been a big question mark. But Andy Yule and the CSG team have been amazing. He’s an exceptional person. For example, we needed reliable broadband for the new system, which is a major problem here in Picton with no fibre. But Andy solved that with our own satellite dish on the roof which gives us fast broadband at a great monthly price. Andy and the whole CSG team have really delivered and helped take us to a whole new level.
“Our new IT system just helps us do more of what we do, more easily. Which is exactly what we hoped for,” Sue Beattie said.
